Windscreen Research???

been asked to start a poll.....because there's members
here seeing a trend in questions concerning aftermarket windscreens
whether or not they do amplify the suns rays and
burn/melt the plastic on the speedo gauge.

taking a poll/research on what brand screens members
here are using and what screens could cause this potential problem.

so pick a screen if thats what youre using and post if youve
had this problem. even if you have not run into this
problem....jus choose what screen you use and mention dark, light tint, dbl bubble, stock shape, other colors etc....if not mentioned....choose Other!

solutions so far, plain and simple....is to use a rag/towel to
cover the speedo or paint the windscreen. if you have other ideas/solutions/useful comments feel free to add on.

Puig D/B, The sun was rising in the morning with the front facing away from the sunrise. The D/B is clear, and it melted it where the clear polycarbonate meets the black plastic. I will post up a pic later.

I am thinking of buying the Puig Dark smoke. Any thoughts on the quality? And are you saying that having a tinted windscreen protects the speedometer?

^^^^^ Read the other threads. Guess I'll go with the light smoke and try to figure something out to protect the guage.

Puig dark DB. No problems yet. I always try to find some shade to park in. If I can't find any I cover it with something.

I have the Zero Gravity dark smoke regular screen. I always bring an extra t-shirt or rag with me to throw over my guages if i know its going to be sitting out in the sun for a while.
