Race replica paint jobs from the factory-opinions?

what's your opinion on manufacturers selling bikes with MotoGP or AMA, etc. replica paint jobs?...are you yay or nay?...or in other words, would you buy one/ride one?

I ask this because I know there are a lot of people who consider replica paint jobs very 'poserish' or far too flashy for the street, etc...I myself on the other hand love the idea and think every manufacturer should do it every year and with as many models as they can...to be honest, if it were really up to me, EVERY bike would be a replica of some racing circuit, but I know I am just weird likek that...your thoughts & opinions?...

2006 Ducati 999r Xerox replica

2006 Yamaha R1 race-replica

2005 Honda Repsol 1000rr

2006 Movistar 600rr replica

2005 Suzuki GSX-R 600 Rizla replica (aftermarket)

2005 Rossi replica Yamaha R1

2005 Valentino Rossi R6

I would take a Movistar replica, Repsol replica, Camel-Honda replica, heck, almost any motogp paintjob replica 600rr over any of the standard colors they offer...what about you?...how big is the 'market' today amongst 600rr riders for race replica paintjobs?...and, if you do like them, our of curiousity, what 'paint-job' would you like to see on the 2007 600rr?

There are certain bikes that can pull it off. The Rizla suzuki, the Yamaha GO!!!!!!!!! and the Rossi R6 need to go. Yamaha should haver done an R6 based off of the GP spec bike, the R1 does not have enough side faring to show off the logo and looks tacky IMO. If Suzuki made a Corona WSBK replica it would probably be the hottest selling bike out there. The AMA bikes are so close to the stock body work that selling a replica would almost be pointless. Why pay an extra $500 when you can go to wrist twisters and pay $50?

I like the Duc and the Repsol, however I would rather just have a plain ol' black bike.

might of actually thought the new R6 looked half-way decent if they would have offered a GP paintjob like this

r1 race replica is nice... thoguth it was just the limited anniversary edition though..didnt know it was a race replica. and the 05 rossi is ok.. the 06 is so stupid with the go!!!!!! on it.. seen one at the dealer...ugly...

i know its not a race replica but whats really nice is the limited edition r1 that is all black and gold... holy thats a sweet ride. looks way better in person

edit - just found the info, its called the r1sp only 500 made. our dealer had one.. holy crap what a beauty.

I think they look alright, don't think I would fork over extra cash for the graphics though.

i'm a fan of replicas. replicas are flashy, but bikes are flashy in nature...so whatever to that argument. i'm particular to the movistar myself...tho i'd love to see a factory fortuna for the 07rr.

Visitor, diggin' the replicas. Very nice work.

Sete, I'm a fan of the styling on the new R6 but IMO that Camel replica looks like arse. It may look better from an angle other than what a lowsided rider will see. I think that paint scheme would look better on an older model R6.

IMO a race replica needs to have some form of resemblance to the actaul bike it's attempting to replicate (for the GP bikes).

I went down on thursday and decided to replace my rashed plastics with a repsol replica... Its been about a week of shopping around for parts, stickers and plastics, I think I have gotten everything together. If everything arrives in the mail, expect a new thread from me next week. . . I'm very excited and I think you will all be impressed.

I think if companies start mass producing replicas it would take away the appeal to me, like the 1000rr's. I like the fact that if you want a replica you have to do it yourself, thats what makes them stand out. I don't like owning things that i can pass an exact copy of when riding down the street. I like owning things thats are one of a kind. They definitely look nice, but i wouldn't want to pay extra for a replica that anyone else can buy also....dunno maybe I'm just wierd.

I agree to an extent, but I think it is nice when they come out with one every few years.

Pepe this one, i havent seen it on the site here either, but apparently Switzerland got only 125 of them this year.
So this is perhaps the rarest replica available anywhere....

Race repilcas for me any day.
Its nice to a different colur scheme on a motorbike, although not if its to common as the moviestar and the repsol schemes seem to be in the uk.
My cbr600 has a ten kate winston colour scheme, was resprayed by the dealer who did a 600 and a blade at the same time.Never seen one similar yet.
