Toss up for new cage 2008

Hey guys,
I'll be getting a new car in March of 2008.
I've fallen in love with 2...
2005-2006 G35 Coupe
2006 Evo IX

what would you do?
the only reason im leaning for g35 is the level of sophistication.

by the way, every one has a lancer.good luck standing out without looking like something from fast and furious tokyo poop. the G35 is nice i guess, same thing as the Z350 but for old people. do whatever, its your money and your cage.

EDIT: PS i didnt vote cuz i wouldnt want either

well theres no other because its either one of the two.
i will be 21 at the time of purchase.
i know the evo is ricey-er... but i love turbo/boost
but the g35 is just a classy car with just as much power
and jordan yea i know but ive narrowed my search and have hit a road block.
just seeing what other people would choose and why, s'all.
and while i like the charger and camaro...
american/american muscle is definately not my style although i can appreciate them.

I love the G35, but I am a huge import fan.... and the EVO just does it for me. AWD and Turbo. Very tough choice, but I had to pick EVO just because of its history.

Unless u get the evo MR, then I'd get the g35 all the way. the turbo lancer evo should kick the g35's ass right? in terms of acceleration and handling. were u lookin at the g35 coupe or sedan??

i KNOW ice!
if you check out my car that i am selling (think i found a buy for later this month) you can see that i really am into tuning.
thats another reason for the evo, i love tuners, but want to get out of "tuning"
so the evo would be a great car to just buy leave stock, have boost, and get the same feel.

kekoa...
the g35 is 298hp stock at the crank but 0-60 is like 5.5 or something right around there.
evo is 289 or 285 stock i believe but its 0-60 is 4.8
i would be looking for an MR although the performance numbers of the non MR to MR are EXACTLY the same except one is 5 spd and the other is 6.
and yea im looking for the g35 coupe

such a dilemma. although a great dilemma

damn rich kids, although it does feel nice to know that everything you ever owned was bought and paid for by your own hard work and laboring. i have coworkers who are 20 and drive around Z350s and 2007 Grand Prix SS (sorry excuse for a GTO) and have their R1s on the side. It will suck for them when daddys cash flow stops. cool that you can mod cars though. id take a WRX over an EVO IX just cuz they look more.......nimble. and i like a wide car. ill vote. the G35 has sytle and class. the EVO does not compare on that level. and you cant haul balls everywhere so what if you have a 1000 HP evo, nobody cares

bro, u get the evo, chip, down pipe, exhaust. That like instant 100 hp or so. LOL. its so easy to make power on those rice mobiles. Since you are only 21, get the evo dammit. worry about luxury..etc.. when you are all grown up lik myself. hehe

jordan-
i was sponsored for my previous car so that helped but my dad and i worked on it alot so it was an investment for both of us and it was my only hobby that i ever spent paychecks on.

and while my parents have helped alot... i have no problem admitting they do.
i appreciate everything they do for me and work my ass off in school and my job regardless.
so its not like i dont know what i have and im extremely grateful.
plus it aint sh*t unless you have friends to share it with.
sorry i just dont like the stereotype "rich kid" comments because i am all about sharing, giving and appreciating.

kekoa-
thats the thing id be leaving either stock performance wise other than intake on the g35.. im done with tuning for good.
and im worrying about sophistication because im looking for good internships leading to career opportunities already in well known graphic design firms and believe me they look.

Just remember, turbo cars are fun but lots of money to upkeep! I have a turbo Audi and the turbo just crapped out on me out of nowhere last week. The cheapest I can fix it for by doing all the work myself is $850-900! That cost is with a rebuilt turbo too, not brand new. Dealer wants $1600 for the turbo. I can get a new one for $800 outside the dealer. When you do that work you also need to replace the oil lines and gaskets, etc...which makes up around $250 of the cost. That is why I went with the rebuilt unit. My car is in pieces in the garage and I am banging my head against the wall screaming, "Why did I get the damn turbo version of this car!?" All turbo cars are expensive to upkeep, the turbo has a life to it regardless of how you take care of it maintenace wise. I suggest, unless you have mechanic skills and gobs of money, avoid the turbo cars.

I drive a friends G35 all the time. I am such a huge fan of the Turbo and AWD that an EVO would be tits. You can leave the car stock and just give it a couple of modifications as mentioned above. The EVO will a little modifications can blow a G35 out the water. I also like the EVO because its a four door. Its always nice to have space for a couple passangers. The back seats of a G35 is not fun to have people jump in and out ( from experience).

IMO i just think the EVO is the best choice.... let alone with bang for the $$$$.

now this is another GREAT point to look at. It all depends on what you want. I drive the G35 a lot... but would honestly love to be driving an EVO instead.

james-
i have no problem upkeeping a boosted car.
hell a factory turbo'ed car isnt sh*t compared to a supercharged integra.
haha that thing causes hell all the time im constantly covered in grease so its not the maintanence im worried about.
but yea audi's are expensive cars to service regardless but the boost is fun isnt it?! ha

ice-
yea 4 doors are nice, my current car is and i like that aspect.
but again... i wouldnt really want to mod anything besides intake on the g-35
and theres not much room to speed around here although the canyons in the evo would be fun.
besides i have to RR for that!!!!

jordan-
haha thanks for voting man even though theyre not a camaro or charger ;) ... the width of the evo is pretty sexy. and didnt mean to be defensive back but i dont see my self as one of the kids from my highschool driving m3's as their first cars that just dont care about the car. you know?

kekoa-
yea theres a woman at my school with the 335i bi-turbo and its pure tits. but its a little more expensive right? i dont wanna go above much more than the g35 or evo (used)

ps. ive never used the edit button so much. great input so far guys i appreciate it.

didnt mean to call you a nicky haden or anything (parents build you a race track in your back yard, of coarse youll get good at raceing). cool that you got sponsored. not an easy task. glad you have a nice car that didnt get stolen (have 2 friends that had show-stopping NICE ricers that both got boosted) as nice as a lightning fast car would be, it will get you in more trouble then you will be able to handle. the Law has limits, and once you get caught for racing that EVO, kiss it good bye and your license too. the G35 is good looking enough to get you in the right crowd career wise, and fast enough to pass that mini van. besides, you still have the RR if you want the thrills.

no worries bro.
yea thats what ive been thinking
and thats why im done tuning. the car got stolen and they only got the system by the time it was found.
and im done racing as ive had my lisence suspended once due to being a point over and let me tell you how many pay checks i had to dump into getting it back.
but that was back home in the north east.
cops around here dont f*ck around and i know if i did the same things here they'd take my car. i've grown up alot and am done with that. havent had a ticket for almost 2 years now.
thats the main reason im done mod'in

its soo sad to see a nice hard worked car get stolen. theyre like bikes. sooo sad. whats this world coming to? that license deal is awful, even your best friends will hate you after one month of bumming a ride, even if it is to the same work place. EVO is just asking for it. your insurance will be the coffin, grave, and headstone. at least the G35 is more sutle and will still get you laid depending how you use it. ive had more success with girlfriends when i ride slow then ride fast with them on the back. Chicks could care less if it can go 300 MPH and has 670 HP. they see Lexus, Leather, and LOOT. but you can play off the last one.

true dat. i have co workers that have MEGA civics and there all about numbers and how fast they can spank you. all single. my friend has a beautiful 2001 M3 that probably hasnt ever been to 100 MPH and he has a different girl at his place every time i come over to work on our bikes. that BMW has got all the mods, but just cruzes everywhere looking pretty. i gave this chick i just meet a ride. hit 120 going over an empty bridge (doesnt justify, but whatever) she said she had fun, but i never hear from her again. and NO, it has nothing to do with my level of play or stunningly handsome looks.

I say neither, but between those two the G35 for sure. At least it has some style, the Evo is so ugly it makes baby jesus cry.

im a valet and i've driven many different kinds of cars... i like the evo for the weather we have, wet. But the new G35's are really nice and drive very smooth. Have you ever thought about a benz? Depending on what you really want is the main question. Are you looking for speed or are you looking for lux. Are you going to keep the car around or are you going to trade it in later. I'd say go for the G35 if you want to keep it around, the evo if you want to turn heads and stay young.

Well I have the G35 and my choice is deffinately go with the G.

The Evo is too boy racer. I do have to warn you though the G35 is a porker.
