Question your take on clear fairings from hotbodies

I was just wondering what your guys thoughts are on the new fairings from hotbodiesracing.com. I thing they are pretty sweet, just think about all the possibilities; underlights, cheep paint will look really good, tricked out engine components.

i really dont think streangth maters that much when you go down. you really cant repair clear.

as for taking them on and off though? mainly the ram air covers and tail you have to flex them a good amount and im not sure if there is a clear plasic that can do this as well as the stock pieces. i could be worng though just never seen it.

Oh dont even get me started. You do realize that they'll get EXTREMELY dirty, they'll start to turn YELLOW because of the UV Radiation from the sun.

They're worthless unless your bike NEVER see's the sun or the road. Strictly a Show Bike piece.

They claim that the are made from the same material as the windscreens. I really like the the Idea of painting the inside

They may be (should be) UV protected with coating. I'll have to look into it.

Well, just checked their site and the web admin/developer is appearantly an idiot. You click on details and get a 404.

Anyway, from the intro pic, I think they look ugly, themselves, but maight be kewl painting the inside with some fancy paintwork or something. I dunno.

jays right. i know my stock windscreens are extreamly flexable, i accidently sat on one an it didnt crack or anything. and i have yet to see a yellowed windscreen from UV radiation.

i think they would be cool to have. not just for show, but for everyday use. you could paint the majority of the fairing but leave a few strips or such unpainted for that see-through look to the engine.

Bad ass; change your colors on a whim. Sure, not as well made as stock but hey different strokes. Won't be long before the kids have neon hooked up with the clears; maybe transparent aren't so hot an idea.

Yeah but the clear will turn white from the scratches and will ruin the paint anyways. But yeah, you deffinately won't need to clear the paint

Actually, unless it's real deep, scratches and nicks are quite easily polished out od plastic, so I still see one benefit, there.

You'd have to keep both the inside AND the outside of the fairings clean. That would be a real pain I'd think. Does look kind of cool, I can imagine the possibilities... Not for me though.
