I have a fullsize C1500 with a regular 6 foot bed, you will need a 8 foot bed in order to close the tailgate if the bike is straight in.
If you angle the RR from corner to corner it will close, but its a pain in the a$$. I cant even close the tailgate with my 450's straight in.

If you get a fullsize you will want the extended bed usually about 8 foot, i dont know about the compact trucks.
