Question New Exhaust or Helmet?

With around $500 to spend what would you guys get?

if you don't have a high quality lid, get the lid. make sure you try them on first and compare to rf1000 or arai quantum2 and rx7.

Yea I'm beginning to think you guys are right.

I have a Scorpion EXO700, which was great for two years. It’s just not up to par any more. I tried the X11 already and it seems to be a good fit, will go try it on again to make sure.

But daymn... that Akrapovic loooks soo good.

Another thing is that I don’t want a full system, because I don’t have a PCIII, may never get to a track, and don’t even have full leathers yet.

Anyone know if you can buy the Ti Akrapovic headers later without the can?

Thanks

Helmet...
I assume you'll have the bike a few years. The slip on is one of my winter projects...something to really look forward to next year.

WOW, I cant believe that this poll is a tie. I would have thought that the exhaust would be a no brainer.

Suit: http://www.ridersinc.com/agv-sport-f...06-p12467.html

and boots: http://www.newenough.com/boots/racin...cle_boots.html

And then go to the track. Best upgrade for your bike by far. Your bike will perform better, your gear will perform better, and best of all you will perform better.

Exhaust or a new helmet will be, well, just an exhaust or a new helmet. Performance gains are literally minimal compared to a trackday. Go ahead, impress your friends!

i voted helmet....but for the exact same price ($500), you can afford a trackday, plus transportation to and from the track, gas and lunch.

2007 600RR - Arata Full Ti, Bazzaz ZFI/AFM, Pipercross Race filter, Repsol 4T synthetic, 520 ERV3 conversion, 15/43 renthal sprockets, Galfer Superbike brake lines, Vesrah RJL's, Bridgestone BT002 Pro Soft/Medium, Vortex rearsets, Ten kate replica intake, red/white/black rattle can spray job.

I'd buy a $250 helmet and a used slip-on, that way I could have both. Safetywise, all the reports I've seen indicate that there's no statistical advantage of crashing with a $500 helmet over a $150 helmet. The extra money is in the quality of things like fit, finish, ventilation, and graphics. Plus, why spend $500 on something you'll just have to replace in a few years anyway even if you don't crash.

If you don't plan on crashing and landing on your head, I'd go with the exhaust.

Seriously, I have a Scorp and an X11, and there isn't a whole lot of difference. People say that it's worth the extra $400 but I just don't see it. I'd go with the exhaust.

Personally if you dont have a quality lid yet then get one, I would suggest an Arai you can get them brand new for like 400 bucks on ebay.. use the rest of the money to start your exhaust fund

If your just tired of your helmet and want something different go with an exhaust first
