Jaguar's Autonomous Safety System

http://rideapart.com/articles/bike-s...uar-land-rover

Short of it is, the car starts to yap, buzz, strobe, and poke the driver to get his attention of an impending doom in a form of an approaching rider or another obstacle.

All other arguments aside, when this tech hits the road, you bet your ass I'll be circling every new Jaguar/LR I see on the road until the warnings drive the owner insane.

Nothing beats plain ol' attentiveness in avoiding accidents and close calls. What this tech will do is relax the drivers more and teach them to rely on the vehicle far more than themselves and in the end mold the driver into something resembling a passenger. For this reason, I can't wait until Google fully launches its autonomous car. Either give the driver full responsibility, or none at all. Anything in between, I believe, is detrimental in the long run.
