FS: 05 600RR Race/Track Bike

I am posting this for a racing buddy, Simon. The bike is adult (over 40) owned and raced. He bought an 05 gsxr1000 2 years ago and has focused all his racing efforts on that bike. Hes having too much fun on the gsxr1000 and realizes he just isnt going to ride this bike. He really doesnt want to sell it, especially given all the time and effort hes put into this bike. However, hes just been holding on to it for the past 2 years without riding or racing it. Hed rather see someone else enjoying the 600rr rather than having it collect dust in his garage. So hes asked me to post this up for those who might be interested.

Now, without further adieu, here is the information my buddy sent me on his 600rr that he built basically from the ground up. Ive tried to put it into a bit more user friendly format below, but they are his words:

Frame:
The Honda was built on a brand new non stamped 05 frame, which I have the receipt for. The donor bike was a 03 salvage bike. The sub-frame is an aftermarket trick piece very light maybe 2 lbs instead of 10 lbs for the stock one.

Suspension:
The front suspension is an inverted 05 GSXR 1000 with black sliders. The rear shock is a Penske shock. It has a Scott (now called Ohlins) top mount steering damper. The front triple clamps are adjustable. The forks and the whole bike were set up by GMD Computrack NYC (by Mike Martire).

Bodywork:
The bodywork is 05 Sharkskins that have never hit the ground and are painted like the factory bike - black and red.

Brakes:
Brakes are GSXR 1000 calipers with 320 mm rotor conversions and a Speigler master cylinder (much like a Brembo) with braided SS lines.

Motor:
The engine has a 2mm bore kit, Carillo rods, ported and skimmed head, undercut transmission, Power Commander, shift kit, BMC air filter, intake stacks, full titanium Yoshimura exhaust balanced and lightened crank and has the very unavailable HRC race kit installed.

The HRC race kit has cams, valve springs, adjustable timing gears, clutch springs, special electrode-less spark plugs and a different cam sensor trigger. The kit was almost impossible to get in this country even Erion could not get one for me. They used all they could get in their own formula extreme bikes.

The complete motor and transmission was cryogenically frozen.

I'm not one for quoting dyno numbers but it has well over 120 horsepower and makes way more torque than any 600. I could have got more peak horsepower but I would have lost out on the torque. I think it was more rideable this way.

Miscellaneous Goodies:
The rearsets, Clip-ons, engine covers and frame sliders are all Woodcraft. It also has an aftermarket fairing bracket (he didnt indicate the manufacturer). It also has an HRC quick turn throttle and switch gear. And of course it has the 520 chain and sprockets. It is also equipped with Dunlop tires.

Pictures:
Here are a couple of pictures. The forks now on the bike are different from those in the pictures. The ones in the picture are 05 GSXR 750 forks. The only difference is that the GSXR 1000 forks have black sliders (the top section of the forks tube) instead of the gold sliders that the GSXR 750 forks have.

Closing Remarks:
The motor is real strong and the bike has the best front end I have ever tried. I have spent way more money on it than I care to remember. It has barely been ridden in the last 2 years. Whoever buys this bike for $4500 will get a lot of bike for their money and be very happy.

Price: $4500

If you call him, Simon has a pretty thick Scottish accent (although he doesnt think so). Be prepared, it takes a little getting used to over the phone.

If you call or email him, tell him that John sent you.

Since I have raced against this bike I can personally attest it is a fast and well sorted bike.

Yup, it pretty much was a steal at this price. Simon just wanted to find the bike a good home with somebody who would use and appreciate it . . . and it seems he did just that.

I heard from Simon late last night, and it is my understaning the bike is sold. Thanks to all those who took the time to look and pm questions. If the sale falls through or anything changes I'll be sure to post back again.
