Was up in North Carolina last Thursday so I stopped by HARD RACING's shop! (Pix)

I had taken a road trip up to Mooresville North Carolina last Thursday to visit a friend who works for a NASCAR Truck team pit crew, along with some other business in the area related to work. So since I was in the area I thought I would stop by HARD RACING and meet the people I have spent so much money with. I estimate I have spent about $30,000 with them the past 2 years.

WOW! What a nice place HARD RACING has. They are located in a HUGE industrial complex home to many NASCAR teams, other stock car racers and many supporters of that industry such as SIMPSON RACING Products, Red Bulls HQ and many others. I guess about 90% of all the shops in that complex are related to racing in some form.

It was GREAT to meet the crew there. I made some photos so if any of you have done business with them, you will have some idea what their shop looks like.

Most internet "stores" are not even real stores with a building. They are internet drop shippers working in their basement ordering parts after you buy from them. Ala, middle men. So you never really know what your getting. Hard Racing actually stocks all these items and I saw enough Ohlins and Brembo gear to believe it.

I do want to say that HARD RACING did not in any way shape form or fashion ask me to post anything or give me any discounts to do so. I am posting this because of the GREAT Customer Service I have gotten from them. An example would be I can email them a request for Ohlins R&T Forks late on a Friday, ask for next day air shipping with Saturday delivery, tell them to put it on my Discover Card and when I get up out of bed Saturday morning there will be a big Ohlins box on my front porch. How can you beat that?

They really make buying mods fun! And the girl you may have talked to on the phone, YES I can confirm she is as pretty as she sounds. I find that usually is not the case though.

Here are some pictures I made. If you have bought from them before you will probably enjoy seeing them.

Pictures of their building from the outside. One of the best looking building in the entire complex, looks almost brand new.

If your in the area, definitely stop by and check them out.

JJ

While I was there I went across the street to Roush / Yates Engines. This is not the same as Roush / Fenway Racing though it is the same Roush.

The engine department is where they build all the engines for their customers lease motors. Most stock Car racers lease engines.

Take Tony Stewart for example who won the Daytona Fircracker 400 a couple of weeks ago and has his own team. He leases his motors from Hendricks Motorsports and the lease motors are equal in power and perfromance to what Hendricks puts in their own race cars.

At Roush / Yates engines they also lease out motors and have a HUGE facility where that's all they do.

So I went over there, walked inside, asked if I could see their engine shop and they busted out laughing at me like I was drunk or somethng. Hey, it was worth a try. Worked for me before at Crane Cams in Florida. I got a whole tour of their facility back in 1999.

They did tell me they have techs that all they do is take apart used leased motors and measure the tolerances of how the parts are worn, and a different team that assembles the new motors. I sure would have liked to have gotten a look inside. I counted over a 150 cars in the employee parking lot.

That entire city (Mooresville) is driven around stock car racing. Very nice place at that.

I had been looking for a specific tire and none of the dealers in Atlanta had it and some said there was no part # for it. I called Hard Racing and they had me one waiting on me when I got there.

Tires were all I bought today. Because it is much cheaper to buy from Hard Racing from my home which is in another state and not have to pay the sales tax, otherwise I would have left flat broke.

Those Michelin Pilot Powers you got for me, were so easy to mount on my BST's I didn't even need the No Mar mount/de-mount bar.

Those tires are so soft they will basically fold over. Thats the Pilot Powers, NOT the 2CT's which are much more stiffer.

Love the tires and thanks for getting me the 190/55/17 version no one else had in stock.

My friends at Hard Racing,

I sent you an email to get me another Bazzaz Map Switch. I'm gonna use it to make a manual fan switch. I am only using it to switch the ground to the fan relay coil, so no conerns about high current draw going thru it.

Thanks, JJ

Hard Racing

Wanted to give two big thumbs up to Hard Racing on a recent purchase. I ordered Ohlins 25mm cartridges and a TTX shock and they got me an awesome deal on both including the Ohlins tools I needed to install the fork cartridges. They answered all of my questions and set up the shock for my riding style/weight to make things even easier. Great vendor to do business with and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.
