Dealer cracked my fairings

So after three 3 weeks of waiting on my bikes brakes to be fixed at the local honda dealer. I go to pick it up and still no brakes plus* my right upper fairing had been cracked and pieces missing. It looks like they hit the bottom fairing bolt on something and it pushed in and caused a spider web crack. After already being pissed because i had been told they couldn't fix my breaks, and how much they know about bikes because they raced, i asked them about it and got a "we didn't take off any fairings". WTF! has anyone had a experience like this?

what could be wrong with brakes that a dealer cant fix??

i would push the cracked fairing issue tho, if your absolutely sure the cracks werent there before you brought it to them, dont take no for an answer!

sometimes you can tell a crack is older just by looking at it especialy if pieces are missing, so if the cracks looks "fresh" and theyve had it for 3 weeks, you have a pretty good case.

wtf... give it a shot!

yea yea yea, i know my cycle may one day get me killed..... but i get to ride it first!

Don't take that. Theres always someone above them that will listen to you. Threaten letters, bad reviews, etc. and hopefully that will give them a good kick in the butt to work with you.

Did your service advisor write it down on your service ticket when you brought your bike in?

A buddy of mines works at a dealership and the same instance happened there. The service advisor didnt write it on the service ticket. When the guy came to pick up his bike he instantly gravitated towards this little nick that was on the tank that the tech said was already there when he worked on his bike. But since it wasnt written on the service ticket the dealership had to replace it at no cost to the owner.

If it wasnt like that before and it is now and it isnt noted on your service ticket they are at fault!

His sounds more like a privately owned shop since he said they raced. They probably didnt even fill a service paper out noting all the previous damage and if they did unless he has a copy whos to say they wont just write it in. Good reason to buy a service manual and learn to do things yourself. Really sucks man hope you can get them to fix it

I am taking the bike back today to talk about the fairings. And it is true they could not fix the brakes. Nothing against the shop at all good people. It suprised me too. But it was a 09 M/C upgrade and SS lines so maybe something is going wrong.

Well you could always buy a new oem one off the internet which is way cheaper than the stealership or try to find a used one in the for sale section

Theyll probably tell him to F off considering they dont even care what they did. Definitely wouldnt be doing business with then anymore. And like i said early if they didn't fill out a service sheet or he doesnt have a copy of one whos to say if it was or wasnt there? No way to prove it just his word against theirs.

So unclear what's going on here...

Are you paying for the brake parts? or
Are you paying for parts they broke?

If you are paying for parts they broke, you're a sucker. And shitty deal on the brake issue, I personally wouldn't get them to do ANY work on my bike and give them zero service from here on out.

There's no such thing as too much CF.

did not paid for any parts they broke. but did pay for the parts they used to try and fix my brake system and were unable. for sure not going back there anymore. and for sure not going back to a honda "certified" shop for sure. either ill put another 12 hours into trying to fix the brakes or put the original brakes back on and polish up the crack and move on from this evil bike to something that will not be such a PITA.

Did you try posting a thread about your break issue and see if anyone might be able to help you out?
