Come on man, an entire thread (posted after business hours coming up to a weekend) claiming that STG is "getting sloppy" about a 2-3 day delay for an order that was placed after hours? I guess it was my turn since Corey has been getting bashed lately but this one is a bit much don't you think?
I've got over 100,000 items on the website. Is it that inconceivable that something might have to get ordered in real quick? I've got over $3,000,000 in inventory here so don't think that we're just a drop ship company, but if you really want same day ship time our website would be cut down to just a fraction of what it is.
For example: I stock a ton of Alpinestars stuff but there's many items that I sometimes have to order from a warehouse that's two days away in Wisconsin (this distributor does not drop ship). Does that mean I should only list the items that are here ready to go? Does that mean that people looking for an XS blue glove shouldn't have the opportunity to order from us?
If we were getting "SLOPPY" I'd be the first to admit it, apologize for it, and then make it right but an after hours internet order that took 2 days to ship is not exactly something that deserves an entire thread and a general accusation of being "SLOPPY".
Regarding your package potentially shipping USPS, we've implemented a program that looks at UPS, Fed Ex, and also USPS and picks the least expensive method of shipping. You are correct that we used to exclusively ship Fed Ex but that limited us when shipping smaller items. With this system, had you called someone over the phone we could have selected a cheaper shipping option that might have cost you less money. I'm assuming your order was under $150?
I'm glad I work Saturdays otherwise this less than deserved thread would have been allowed to fester all weekend, though it seems that everyone here doesn't have the same feelings toward an internet order that included an item out that needed to be ordered. I'd be more than happy to look up your order and give you an exact explanation of what caused the delay. I'd also be more than happy to process your order myself next time to give you an exact ship time and add any potential discounts. I would have been WAY more than happy to explain what happened over the phone to avoid a general accusation of being SLOPPY on one of the busiest forums we're on.
