Crazy Freddy's Motorsports on LI, NY - bad business practice...

I went to their Massapequa store for a sport bike and negotiated a price which I thought was fair and reasonable. It was not until the sales guy started to write up the invoice did I see the extra $900 charge for freight and setup. Although these $900 fees are pre-printed on the invoice, the guy failed to mention them until I saw the invoice. I've heard numerous stories about the way CF deals and none of them were anything good that's worth mentioning. Avoid this tricky dealer at all costs...

Copied and pasted from ripoffreport.com

My husband purchased a 2007 Seadoo GTI Jetski from Crazy Freddy's back in December 2006 for a Christmas gift. He paid a total of $9860.00 in cash and was told the jet ski would be shrink wrapped and delivered in February 2007.

After three different dates, the Jetski was delivered, unwrapped on February 26th 2007. Needless to say, delivery was refused.

It is now May 29th 2007 and after months of promises and unreturned phone calls, I finally got the Jetski. I had to physically check the lot at Crazy Freddy's myself because I was told they couldn't find the machine. Then once I found it, they could not start the Jetski.

The customer service of this company is the worst I have ever dealt with. No one will take responsiblity for anything, nor will they give a last name so you can't file a complaint.

We have dealt with Umberto, Ray, Kelly and Jimmy (the manager, not the owner as I was told) and still no last names.

I would never, ever suggest anyone deal with this company for any motorsport items. I wish I could put them out of business to spare someone else the same months of nonsense.

I was told today when I received the Jetski by Jimmy, 'Sometimes people just fall through the cracks' What an excuse.

Here's another example from ripoffreport.com

My wife and I purchased a 2006 SeaDoo GTI SE jet ski on 7/15/06. At first we wanted a special that was selling for $8900. However, that model wasn't available, even though we signed a contract for it. Settling for a “better model", the salesman, Steve, told us that we were paying $500 less than manufactures list price. We signed all the paperwork and were very happy with our purchase. Our friend who went along with us also purchased a jet ski. Funny, his signed contract for a particular model wasn't available either – and got duped into a much higher priced one.

That evening a few friends told us they thought we paid too much. Actually, we paid $2000 over list price. Amazed by this, I had two friends go into their store on 7/16 and they were quoted the same exact jet ski for the actual list price of $8600 – not the $10,408.32 we paid. Funny, they claim “insanely low prices" What we actually got was insanely high prices.

I then called the store and spoke to the salesman. He said that we got a very good deal and when I asked him if I paid less than list price, again he said we did – “$500 less than list". Mentioning that 2 friend's story, his entire story and attitude changed. He said they “low-ball" all the customers and that the first choice model, even when having a signed contract will never be available. They always try to “up sell". Let me tell you, I'm beyond shocked that I heard those words come out of his mouth.

I tried calling 3 different managers; Michael, Jerry, and Alex. All said they would call back in 15 minutes. They never call back. Funny, all the managers claim that a mistake was made, but they never call back! No phone call. It turns out that the General Manager, who I was told was Alex, does not exist. They use false advertising, bait & switch, and price gouging. By the way, the other friend I went with over paid by $1400 because of their unethical practices.

Shame on me for not doing my homework, but shame on Crazy Freddy's Motor Sports
for the following unethical practices:

False Advertising: Motto of “Insanely Low Prices" Actually, Insanely HIGH prices
Bait & Switch: They get you in with a cheap non-existent model
Price Gouging: Add thousands to retail and tell you your paying less than retail

I googled them and didn't find anything negative. Are they bad buys or something?

Just shitty business practices. They will just screw people over. They tried to charge me $750 for assembly on a bike there and told me that's what the cost was. When I asked them to see the bike in the crate, it needed about 10 minutes worth of assembly. Needless to say I went somewhere else haha
