58cycle...nightmare

The family picked up a GPR damper from them for xmas. When I got it the package was opened and held together by a little piece of tape. (GPR's are shrink wrapped so its not just an open box). ok fine, ill just mount it. Two problems. Small problem, the damper hits the threading from where the tripple gets tightened down. Secondly, the tank mount did not fit right, ended up pushing against my tank and notching it. When I tried to mount it all together the damper would hit the tank mount (no matter which way I installed it).

So I try to return the damper and have been in back and forth email with 58cycle about it. First they wanted pictures, then description, then more pictures, then confirmation from GPR about my problem...finally got a response last week that they would return it for store credit only and also charge a 20% restocking fee. Am I wrong here or is this bad customer service?

That sucks bro. If they are going to give you a store credit they should remove the stocking fee. But if they give you your money back they will most likely charge you the restocking fee. Well atleast that is how some of the places I have gone to does it. It sucks period, I hate places like these. They should just get smacked.

It doesn't work....that should be a full refund or an exchange for something that does...with no added cost to you.

why would they restock if it doesn't fit? Is it a defect or the wrong one for your bike? T

I am not sure why it did not fit? maybe its suppose to damage the tank when mounted. They called GPR and over the phone GPR confirmed that all the parts are the right ones and should work. I dont think they even know what the problem is....

Im not trying to knock on them but I needed to vent, just get upset when I see such blatant defiance of common sense....

I live in Danville...and trust me when I say that everyone who lives down here is a f***ing moron! There are so many idiots here, you would be amazed. To give you an example, I tried to get some hotbodies flushmounts from the local motorcycle shop (trianglecycles.com) and they were going to charge me $60 when they don't even retail for $40 but the PartsUnlimited catalogue says $60. This town sucks.

Sounds like they could definitely use some better customer service. wow. Call up GPR, let them know the story and tell them you want a replacement damper for the effed up one you have. Bigger companies are generally pretty cool.

thats is horrible. How can they charge you a restocking fee when its there fault? They should pay the shipping of the damper back to them, plus cover the shipping of the new correct one to you. Damn sh*tty if you ask me.
