What happened to Riders Inc in the Vendors section???

we asked ourselves that same question a few days ago when we noticed that we were "archived." we were taken by surprise due to lack of communication. there was no prior notification and only when we took the initiative did we learn of what was going. long story short, it is not in the best interest of MRI to continue as an "official" site vendor due to the current circumstances required to be one. HOWEVER.....

HAVE NO FEAR!! we are not going anywhere, we will continue to be a part of 600rr.net just like we have been since the beginning. the only difference now is that for the time being we will not have our banner and section in the Vendors area. we will continue to offer our support in any shape or form possible like we have always done so. just think of us as disco and cozy before they became "official" site vendors with their own sections in the vendor areas, but with that Riders Inc commitment and passion everyone is familiar with.

cheers

Is vertical scope asking for too much money?

Good to know that you guys will still be around.
I have bought a few things from MRI in the years past with great prices and customer service!

I haven't been around very long and was wondering what kind of problems some mods and members were having when the forum was sold to a new owner a little bit ago...startin to see it now though.

This kind of thing is total crap!!!!!! This used to be a great community where everyone watched out for and took care of each other. Vendors gave us great prices and service and they got loyal customers who praised them to the high heavens.

It wasn't an overnight change but I am starting to see why some outstanding members have left. The new owners have commercialized this place to the point that it is disgusting! Non stop ads, "supporting vendors" who show no interest in the community, etc.

I'm all for the next guy makin a buck but when companies and members with a good history here are getting pushed out, it ruins what was once a great thing. I'm guessing MRI didn't cough up the dough to remain a Supporting Vendor and so the owners decided they weren't going to give them the "advertisement" of having their own sub-forum.

It's no longer about what the community wants or is helpful to them, its about making more and more money.

On an entirely unrelated note, this plugin for FireFox will block and prevent from loading any images which you don't want to see, including pesky advertisements.

Geez! Well this sucks! I've literally spent thousands at MRI so to see a site vendor like MRI no longer a site vendor is disheartening

/agreed with Grizzly. Site vendors from before the sale should be grandfathered in. They have given more than enough to the community to need to have to pay "site vendor" fees.

Also Ad Block Plus (as stated above) is the ****. My own way of sticking it to the man (new owner).

It is however nice to see that MRI will be around for us, and that they let us know what is going on. Truely commendable. (and awesome prices)

Sorry to see this happening, but very glad to know you guys will still be around. I've shopped with you guys ever since you all came around back when the site first started, and will continue to do so, regardless of site 'status' you may have!

Thanks for the clarification Andrew!

My question was more geared towards the new ownership and the changes that have been, and have yet, to be made regarding the site. I also use a mac, and never have a problem viewing the site even without the premium membership.

I will definitely not be paying for any kind of membership, premium or otherwise...not as long as the current owners are running the place at least. Sure, before the new owners took over i would have if it would have benefited the community, but not with how things are now.

I don't want to politicize this thread too much, but please note that premium memberships are not "support", they are additional revenue for the company who runs this site.

Everyone should realize that by going premium you're not 'helping the site stay on its feet', you're giving them revenue directly, rather than through ads.

This is funny to me, as I was just here barely long enough to be familiar with the old site and Riders Inc. but I'd never used them as I haven't started buying presents for my bike till now, and right now all I know is Cycle Sector, eBay, and Google shopping.
Looks like I get the advantage of competitive pricing again.

oh, god, this is just how it started with the car....start small: grips, face shield, 600rr.net beanie. Soon enough: New helmet, rear tire, steering damper, PCIII, rearsets....ok, who wants my credit card now in advance because we all know where this goes...

Make sure you call for a credit limit increase before giving them your credit card.

I assume that the site owner reads some of the posts on his site. I just hope that he takes notice that his posters should have a little say in what they want, since it is the people that post here that lose the most from these changes. Or, am I getting my hopes up?

We spent almost two weeks contacting vendors to explain to them the options. Each vendor we could reach had the situation carefully explained. So, if there was any problem communicating this to a specific vendor, it was not from lack of effort on our behalf.

No one is being "pushed out". Each legacy vendor was offered a special rate in consideration of their time here. We took a great deal of time and consideration before acting and gave current sponsors a great deal of leeway. Those who chose not to take advantage of this offer were moved to the sponsor archive so that their content would still be available to members.

We are still going to be here... to support the MEMBERS of this FORUM... maybe just not in the fashion as other site vendors... and we respect that. I remember the day when we started here... when JetBlast and Big Tuna and other 2003 600RR members shared their words of wisdom with the community... and when we attended our first So. Cal. 600rr.net meet!

We will still have our presence here... and MRI is growing like crazy. We have 3 mechanics (1 specializing in dirt) now... doing mod installs, full services, tire changes, valve jobs, complete engine work, etc, etc... EVERYTHING... for ALL BIKES (we have had loads of cruisers come in lately).

We continue to sell great gear and mods at GREAT PRICES, to our 600RR members, to our local customers, our NATIONWIDE customers, and our TROOPS ALL OVER THE WORLD, and our fellow RIDERS all over the WORLD (customers from Australia, Japan, Asia, Netherlands, and many more countries)!!!

We will continue to post as members of this forum... to support the 600RR community of owners, future owners, and information seekers, and lurkers... and will continue to provide the best prices and services to our riding communities (street, dirt, cruiser, harley, track, watercraft).

Cheers... Andrew and the Team at MRI

we did not want to go into details between the business side of things because we believe that should be kept private between the parties involved. hence why our initial post did not include any specifics. this thread is intended to let the fellow members know where we stand, nothing more.

for the record, we only started receiving phone calls from Jason at vertical scope soon after we were archived. matthew received the initial call and i received the second call today.

it might not be for lack of effort, but poor timing and coordination.

cheers
