How much brake fluid for a full flush? RR4

Morning chaps and chapesses

I'll be fitting new pads for my next mini service, and thought it about time to change the brake fluid too, as I'm not entirely sure when it was last done
Plus I have a track session coming up too so would like to have brakes at maximum effect.

I know DOT4 fluid should be fine and is recommended, but am thinking of going for 5.1 as don't want to take any risks with track use and possible high temps on the day too... however I can't seem to find written anywhere how much fluid I'll need for my RR4.

I'm ordering pads online, so will get fluid at the same time and don't want to order too much/not enough.
Bottles are 500ml, would one be enough or will I need 2?

Ta!

get 3 at least, 1 for learning, 1 for flushing, 1 for finishing the job right?

get fresh fluid, as the stuff degrades even in an unopened bottle.

I wouldn't switch fluids, if you overheat brakes you're either a hot shot or somethings wrong.

Bed pads and test ride bike before track day?

HTH, GL!

Sounds like a good idea Tary, thanks.
DOT4 it is.
Yes, I'd be buying fresh and disposing of any unused fluid afterwards.

And the track day is in France in August, so I'll be getting in a few hundred miles before then!

Much appreciated.

if you use bleeding syringes you can flush the entire system with maybe 100ml

Interesting, thanks Wibbly.
I've got a friend locally who will ask to help me out, he might have bleeding equipment as he's got quite a few bikes he works on himself.

yes, I use a vac bleeder and it really helps. Syringe method is the skilled way to do this, I ain't at that level.

Don't let air into the system's m/c, again purging m/c can be time consuming.

hardest part is keeping hoses tight on bleeders....
