That sucks, atleast nobody was hurt.
We had 3 motorcycle coppers and 2 police cars, a police car at 2 or 3 lights ahead, a car behind and 3 motorcycles blocking off the lights and roundabouts while we all rode. It was a good day. :) Got to see a ridiculously fat motorcycle copper take this corner at about 130, he had the full lean, knee out race body position.. it was halarious.

FYI - turns out my brand new Yuasa battery in the 250RR is completely cactus. Battery place say they've never seen it happen before.

They've had it on their charger 2 days and it still isn't registering anything more than 1.4 volts.

(so for the record: I had a legit excuse for missing the toy run :p)

I've been redeemed!

The battery dropped a cell (which is surprising for a Yuasa).

Replaced under warranty (big thumbs up to battery world)

Pick up a new one tomorrow.

:D

Hey guys, sorry about the late notice but spacecadet, myself and a couple guys are heading out for a hills run today. Meeting at West Terrace BP 10:45 for an 11am departure. We'll probably head to eagle, crafers, lobethal, chain of ponds and gumeracha.

Nico, you live up north right. If you were to join us in future where would you like us to meet you? Would BP at the base of Gorge road be preferable? Postie, I hope you're bike is coming along swimmingly, I'm hanging out for the photos still on your thread!

I'm hanging out to get it finished too.... I just haven't been in the state to finish it!

Currently in Canberra for work.. Hopefully I'll find some time over the next few weeks.....

It's pissing me off that it's sitting there so close to being finished, but just can't seem to find enough free time to get it sorted.

Enjoy the ride!

WTFness, this is a bloody crock of SH*T!

BTW here is another example our tax money is being wasted. This ad focuses on the motorcyclist when it is the f*cking driver that is in the wrong. Where is the money going into driver education???

Both are in the wrong, and a modern sports bike will come to a complete halt in a lot less than 21 meters... I know that at 50 I can come to a complete halt in less than 3... doesn't take 18 meters to drop from 68 to 50.

Then there is the fact that they are saying the bike left a skid mark, depicting the rear tyre. If the rear tyre is on the ground you aren't using all of the available braking force, which given a little practice is something just about anyone can do.

Although I like the ad cause it does highlight motorcyclist safety, it is annoying that it has statements of fact that are anything but... speed wasn't the major contributing factor, the moron driver was. Then there are the things the rider could have done differently... practice emergency stopping is always a good start and reduced speed doesn't hurt, right up to the point you are going slower than the cars around you... then you get run over.

exactly nico (stopping) also the agility of a modern sportsbike or motard allows for excellent evasiveness.

ive had my bike since new, coming up to 6 years and i am still on the original rear pads.

Guys, be careful on Eagle. Mate got done over the weekend by a copper with a Laser gun. This was near the top, on the way up, before the left curve opposite the car park.

Come up to Broken Hill for a visit Adelaide riders but detour and do Horrocks Pass just out of Port Augusta. My 600 is still in pieces, just like my license so I'm not going anywhere.
