VIR S/S (June 28-29)

What a ******* awesome track!!!! It was my first days pretty much since I started riding that I wasn't running 2cts (switched to supercorsa pros + warmers which are great for a balls out first lap), so I think that made it seem even better... but it's still an insane track!!!!! It has a little bit of everything, fast blind corners and a nice blind mini corkscrew along with tight off camber right handers etc. The front wheel comes up all over the place, and if you brake just right you can roll an endo over the crest at the end of the straight. :icon_lol:

I only have a couple pics from the last session of the last day. It was pretty damn hot on Saturday, and Sunday it cooled down somewhat until all hell broke loose for the last session. I was the only one on the track, it was windy as hell so besides pouring rain my tires were sliding just from being pushed by the wind. But it was tons of fun. The photographers there usually take a long time to upload the pics but maybe I'll bump this thread when I get some actual action shots. My best lap time was a 1:16:96.

yea VIR is an awesome track. So did you go out during the rain or were you caught out in it in the last picture.

I went out, it was the very last session.. I asked the pit marshall if I was holding anyone up I wouldn't go out but he said we're here to work so I was like ok good I'm here to ride. :icon_lol:

Yea, I was crawling through that turn and still felt the tire slipping. It was really windy as well, so coming out of the fishhook I was being pushed towards the outside of the track with all the standing water.

haha, yea me too but I don't crash in the rain... I crash afterwords when everything dries up. I've highsided on the street after dragging knee in the rain, and also crashed at Pocono in the afternoon when it dried up from heavy rain in the morning. The coaches told me later they were actually betting on when I'd crash cause I was lapping everyone, but once it dried up they figured I was safe... d'oh! :icon_lol:

nope, just last session. It slightly drizzled earlier but nothing that got the race line slick. Then the skies just opened... most people had already packed up by then. Buncha pussies!
