I like the tail on the 03-04 better than the 05, but I like the forks, brakes, ram air tubes, and upper better on the 05. Oh yeah, I like the 03-04 swingarm better too.

The mid-section and tail on the 05 kills it. Had to vote 04.

I love everything about '03-'04 better except on the '05 I love the looks of the USD forks, the brakes, and the new upper.

Randal Graves: There's nothing more exhilarating than pointing out the shortcomings of others, is there?

I prefer the Ram Air intakes, swingarm, and tail of the '03/'04 years

On the '05, I prefer the forks and brakes.

Pretty close call either way....

I think most people will vote for the year that they owen and in this case we all know that most people here own 03 or 04. So why bother to ask?

Thats not completely true. If the 05 had the 03 tail, I would say that the 05 looks better.

Not necessarily. I think there are things that I would like to put on the 03-04 from the 05, if it wasnt for the change to the tail section, I'd 100% vote for 05. The tail is a major player in the appearance of the bike. The ZX6R is a damn fine looking bike, until it gets to that whale of a tail.

2005 all black no graphics would be the best. Or that gun metal color like the 954's had.

I haven't jumped on the '05 bandwagon yet either, the tail looks really fat (which I really noticed on the 1000RR's), and the triangle on the front nose puts too much emphasis on the little running light too much. I almost wish that little light wasn't even there.

I haven't seen the '05 in person yet, so I can't be totally against the new style. Its still a sweet looking bike but until I see it outside of a picture to change my mind, I'm going with the old school style!

This weekend I'm headed to the International Motocycle Show in Detroit, so hopefully that will clear up the picture!! ;-)

Someone really needs to post the picture from Cycle World with the '05 up front and the '03-'04 in the background...

I would have but cannot find the issue or it might not be out yet, saw it at friends with a subscription to it.[/b]

I would have to say that i rather like the tail of the 05, however i beleive that the upper cowl does not appeal to me. but i do love the USD forks, brakes, and the swingarm.

i voted 03-04 becasue when i look at my bike i still feel the same way i felt when it first came out.

for me i like a fat tail (obviously, that is why i have the mad dr.)... i like the USD forks for looks, the black calipers... ram air.. and that i about it for the 05..

i do not like the running light on the 05... the swing arm.. and that is about it for that...

as far as the 03-04.. i like the running light better, swing arm.. but i would prefer the USD and black calipers.. overall i would rock either one... afterall there are always mods and custom work that can be done.. :lol2:

Okay, I'm confused now.

How is the mid-cowl on the '05 different from the '03-'04.

BTW, I love the whole fairing look on the '05. The only thing I don't like is the color choice.

BRING BACK THE YELLOW PEARL!!!

Brightest yellow than any bike out there.

There are many things I like about the 05' better then mine (the 04'). But i love front end of the 04' bc its not all one molded piece. I hear the 05s will beat an 04 no problem, is that the truth? Or do they just handle better?

STILL LOVE MY 04' tho. Almost complete!!!

Even with the USD forks I'd say the suspension hasn't changed enough to notice for the average street rider. But the midrange was supposibly improved pretty drastically....nothing a PCiii probably don't make up for though. Between a stock '04 and stock '05 though, it's always going to be rider more than bike.
