Does your computer have firewrie. If Yes

Do you have the mini 4pin to 6pin firewire cable?

I think your camrea comes with it and it also come with software "PixLab capture"

You should read your manual

I use Pinnacle Studio 9. It pretty easy and has some nice options to use when you get better at using it.

Flatline,
Premiere, Final Cut, Vegas 5, etc. are considered pro editing software, unless you plan to get into video editing seriously, it's not necessary for you to get those programs.

The demo you download from Adobe might not allow you to save projects...at least thats the way it was when I downloaded a demo a few years ago.

I use Premeire daily at work, as well as another editing system/software called video toaster, I haven't used pinnacle studio. What options do you have to capture in? Obviously you'd want the highest bit rate/ file size possible to retain the most quality.

i alwasy save my video as DVI...and after editing i just reduce the quality so it's not 5gig of video.. heh

i use premiere and Vegas5. I mostly use Vegas now... easier interface to work.
