Bought a gopro!

Ok. First off. I have wanted a GoPro HD camera for a while. And finally decided to go buy one. Found the motorsports version at a shop near my house and had to get it It is great. I love it. Lots of mounts and the suction cup works great!
I am wondering where other gopro owners mount their camera on their bikes. I would hate to mount an adhesive mount on my bike in a bad location. So? Where have people had good luck with mounts? And what are some good editing software for windows computers? Thanks!

I put mine on the side of my tail. Great footage especially with the 960 view.
But most of the time i have it on the side of my helmet.
Ive heard of other people puttin on the side cowls towards the bottom.

I put mine in a few places:

- on the left fairing, so you get a shot of the forks, wheel and the road in front. (Suction)

- I put an adhesive mount in the 'bowl' section in front of my tank ring, with the extensions moving the camera back or forth, depending on which shot I want. (Handlebars and through the windshield, or up towards me, respectively) ....you can kinda see the black mount in my sig

- On the tail with the suction

- Top of my helmet with an adhesive (Don't go to close to the helmet if you want sound as the air is very turbulent)

- (Suction)On the front of the bike, on the right side of the windscreen, facing back towards me so you see me through the windscreen and how I move.

Just a few neat angles, hope this helps :D

Oh, and for a video editor, you can't use windows movie maker as it doesn't support mpeg-4s, I use Cyberlink Power Director. I just torrented it off the interwebs for free. It works great and is quite user friendly, but takes allot out of your CPU to run it so don't have **** running in the background :P

Thanks for the ideas! I have played around with it on my left fairings, suctioned facing front and back. Also on the tail. I'll get some bids up soon. My first upload took forever. Where do you host your videos? I know you tube and vimeo... And do you manly upload in 720? Or just take the time and upload full 1080?

Man, I've wanted one for so long and I just checked it again on amazon and now I want to order it and catalog my adventures.
One of my favorite views from watching other vids is on the side fairing with the forks in the side of the frame so you can watch compression and tell lean in the video. Other than that, helmet views are always nice.

I won't lie. Online is cheaper then in a store. I looked everywhere. Best buy. Future shop. Walmart(who doesn't carry it). As well as other big box stores... No luck. Finally ended up at henry's photo here in town. Nice gopro display with all the models. Couldn't say no. Spent too much. Oh well. Didn't want to wait any longer!
Truth be told. First one worked for video but not photos. Just wouldn't take any. Took it back and salesman tried different memory cards. Still no go. So gave me a new unit. Pleasure of dealing local I guess. No return shipping and waiting.

I really have to post up some stuff I've shot!

I used the suction cup and put it on top of the headlight. Extra precaution i take is, i used a small rope and tied it up to my mirror. So far nothing had happen.

not sure if you could see it, but i have an adhesive mount on the tail. facing forward, it's the "truth" cam, to watch body position. rearward facing, to watch others behind me. i've tooled around with other mount positions as well, mostly using the suction mount. i've found mounting it right on the tail of the phoenixes gives a pretty good angle of the road.

One tip: use a dummy chord while using the suction cup mount on days where the temp changes a lot. I had mine fall off one time when it was an especially hot day followed by a cold night and I rode the entire time. Camera was fine, I was just freaked out when I noticed it was gone.

I use adobe premiere and couldnt be happier. Its a little expensive but it lets you do almost anything with the video. If you want to see some of my videos go on youtube and search "buechelr".

Put it on a passenger seat cover and aim it at your ass.

What the hell is with the Moto GP/2/125 people, like I want to watch leather clad butts basically humping a bike seat.

Those race views make the pics above look like professional attempts.
