New 2011 first ride Canadian edition:)

Hey y'all, so I'm in Canada and I bought a 2011 with 1.7km(1.06 miles) took it out for a ride today even though its only 3C outside(30F) and I have now 160kms(99.4miles) it was a awesome ride!! This is my first sport bike and I really enjoy it, it's pretty fast I tried to keep it under 8000 rpms for the most part, but of course I went above it sometimes, fastest I got up to 230kph(142mph) and didn't take long! It was amazing.

I found myself crushing around 130-140 speed limit on road was 100. Was trying to do 110 but every time I looked down it was like 130..ImageUploadedByMO Free1367456460.477571.jpg

Don't forget. 50 over in Edmonton is instant license suspension. EPS will take your bike and license on the spot.

Oh yeah for sure man! Thanks, I got some good stuff so far, what you suggest for pants and Shoes for highway/in town riding

Only reason for the 230 was on a straight away and my dumb ass friend was talking **** saying his truck could beat me, and doing 160 while I wanted to do 120 so I smoked him. Shut him up pretty good!

Congrats on the bike and congrats on not binning it after reaching such speeds, in such temperatures for a first ride on a supersport. Like CBRTime said, you got to be careful. The second you face an unfamiliar situation all your courage and sense of macho will disappear. Come to grips with the bike by respecting it and slowly building your confidence.

As for lower body riding gear. You can go with Kevlar Jeans, ones with internal protectors for the knee and padding around the hips. Spidi Furious, Sartso Jeans and Draggin' are brands/models that come to mind. Proper footwear is absolutely paramount, you need a proper boot, sport spec or race spec even. When your foot is on a crash course with a guard rail you want as much protection as you can for your bones and tendons especially. Sidi is great and look into some of the Dainese Torque boots as well.

Hey! Congrats on the new bike. And I m glad u finally unloaded it from your truck.

It's so easy to go over speed limit on these things. Here in vancouver, 40+ over speed limit = bike impounded for a week( $$for impounding) + $$ for towing+ $$ ticket+ insurance goes up. So be careful.

Enjoy ur ride.
