I'm opening her up in a few days, replacing clutch and 47k miles inspection. She's been running kind of crappy.

Got around 100, and she would lose or either slip clutch for about 3 secs or so.

Why in hell would you ever do that?
This is what scares me about buying 2nd hand bikes/vehicles from unknown sellers.

This doesn't really prove anything...

There is still enough residual oil sticking to the internal parts to lubricate (poorly but enough) for a short time. I'm willing to bet you did just add several hundred miles worth of wear to the engine in 5 seconds though. Congrats.

Hahah. Yeah ain't really proving anything.
Just for the heck. Seen it done to a Honda car, and figure I do it on the bike.
Just sucks now, out for a few days till I get my clutch plates from East Toledo !

Cage mood for now :)

That's one of the worst ideas I've seen in a while. Another example of "just because you can doesn't mean you should." Reminds me of the story going around for a while about a guy "flushing" his engine with water to make sure all the old oil got out.
