Running 2 mins flat ... was only the second track day I've done on that bike, but getting quicker every time I go down there.

God damn it's awesome fun.

The fairings cost me $1100AU ($800US) ... a friend and I sprayed them up one weekend. The original finished is black fibreglass and looked like the photo attached.

It's actually the paint which is used on the bonnets for Ford GTs in Australia (circa 1970s I believe) ... the primer underneath that is a grey colour.

They don't make you drain out coolant and put distilled water over there?

Yep, Im there. Think my mate has booked me in the fast group.....gulp.

Not really a problem as thats the group I have ridden in many times before, but due to work commitments and such I hav'nt been on a track in nigh on 6 months!!! Should be interesting.

I `used' to circulate in around the 1.50 - 1.52 bracket. Makes it sorta comfortable in the fast group as it means Im not the slowest, but not the fastest (by a fair margin)either.

Should be good, sounds like theres gonna be at least 3 or 4 of us from the forum there. Will be good to put some faces to the names.

Look for an 03 with 04 looking black and silver fairings and a single sided headlight (a la endurance racer style). I'll be there with a mate on an 04 R1 and another mate on an 04 Gixxer 6.

I think I should be able to pick you from the photo's!!!

Oh, and moeman.... if you ever do decide to do it, let me know ahead of time and I'll rustle up some riding buddies on the day for you (myself included).

Nope... I've been to a fair few track days and it's never been an issue either.
