Surface dressing e-petition

Many of you may have come access this cheap, inadequate and dangerous practice as a "solution" to the UKs pothole problem. The highways agency is risking lives by pursuing this policy in the name of cost savings. It needs to stop. Now.

The below link contains a more detailed description of the problem and an e-petition to sign. Please help stop this dangerous practice now by signing and sharing.

I've seen this cr4p, they layed gravel down, then left. I was a bit miffed as to what was going on wondering when the road would be finished then they painted lines on the crap! Contacted council who did nothing...

Not common here but have seen it - not good at all until the loose gravel (chips?) get cleaned off. Found something worse today. Was driving (in the cage) up the interstate thru a section they are re-surfacing with a layer of asphalt. Looked like they almost totally left the binder out! The left lane had turned into deep gravel and the right lane was almost totally covered by very loose gravel. Was driving from Birmingham to Chattanooga and thought about taking the bike but decided to save gas and take the car. A trooper was blocking the left lane but don't know if I would have been able to keep the bike up! Would have been very scarry last night in the dark!
