Chains & Sprockets..

Alright guys, seeing as my bike is due to come out of hibernation any day now I want to get myself a new drivetrain.

Because I'm a tart I want to get a coloured chain (Red) and this is where I'm struggling for us UK guys.

I know the EK MVXZ is popular on here but I'm finding it impossible to source here in the UK Any help? I can only find the EK SRX chain which seems to be one step inferior...

From what I can see I've got the option of EK or AFAM. Any advice much appreciated.

Chains & Sprockets..

I've only found the brands you've mentioned as well.

If price is any kind of an indication (ie, you get what you pay for) then the AFAM would seem to suggest it is better quality than the EK judging by the cost difference. That's just speculation on my part though as I don't have any experience of owning either product.

Yeah I've had a look but they're just random brands doing coloured chains as far as I can see. The products don't instill ME with much confidence...

Well at least it's not just me being a Dodo then lol. Can't believe how easy it is to purchase in the states with plenty of feedback but here there's hardly any.

I can't be the only 'tart' in the UK...?

I ordered my EK MVXZ (black) and vortex 15/45 sprockets from Motomummy in the states. Was hard finding them here in Aus for the price.

I would buy on quality first before color, I recommend DID(they also sell Tsubaki/Renthal etc), you can get it from a member of the forum on here in the UK section.

If you want red specifically probably will need to go stateside

Mate I'm not one for ever going for an inferior quality item just for aesthetic purposes. I would be 'more' than satisfied by the quality of Afam/EK/RK etc.

And yes, I want to stick to a coloured chain :)

I've ran that MVXZ chain on my last 3 motorcycles, 600RR, R1, 1000RR. Not a single issue. Great chain. Great price.
Whatever u decide to get. Go to that manufactures site and make sure the strength rating is correct.
I've seen vendors say chain is rated for x class bike and the tensile strength was less than stock.

Thanks Snikwad, feedback is much appreciated. I'll be sure to do that with the others but I know that the MVXZ from EK is definitely suitable. I just need to find someone to sell me it lol.
