1 Carbontech good / bad... your call

I give up. Below is a short detail of what happened.

Mods, do let me know if I am allowed to post here as I don't think the above mentioned seller is registered in 600rr.net

I was in a market for a full set of carbon fairings and after reading numerous reviews on the forum, decided to go with 1carbontech as they had good reviews.

Conversation with John went smooth initially for my specific requirements and what I would like to get. Price was agreed upon and I made payment of 2,100 usd for a full set of carbon fairings on 7th March 2014.

John also mentioned that he would need 8-10weeks to get the orders done as he would need to do the molds for some of the parts and I agreed to wait.

Problems came in after the 10 weeks has passed. Emails to John was not replied. I have tried calling him, but his secretary or wife would answer saying that he is not around and he would call me back. Obviously, he did not. Only after numerous mails and calls did he reply. He would give the reason that he did not receive my emails and that he is in the process of completing my orders.

This went on till sometime in Dec 2014 (already 5 months late). He finally showed me some evidence of work being done in the form of a photo of the carbon tank. John also said that my orders would be completed within 2 weeks.

I'm staying in Singapore and did not want him to rush my orders just so that he can complete within the stipulated time in expense of quality. Which is also the reason why I was patiently waiting for the parts to be done. All I did was send emails so that I can be updated.

Till now, I have not received any form of reply since my latest email to him on 22nd Jan 2015.

I'm not sure how other members have fared with service from him but for me, my wait is close to a year. He said he was swamped with orders but ain't my order important as well?

Would like to keep fellow forumers aware of this situation and be prepared to have alot of patience when ordering bigger quantity parts from him. I'm still harbouring the hope that he can get my orders done but I seriously have no way of contacting him. I have even sent a paypal request for money to be paid back to me but as usual, no response. If anyone of you has a way of contacting him, please do let me know.

Your choice to decide if 1carbontech is a good buy or bad buy.

Sounds like he may be having a problem with 1CT.

I have a couple of pieces on my 750 for 3 years now and they still look like new. So if you're debating on whether they're a reputable company or not, they are and it's well worth the wait.

Yup I love my pieces from them as well. He probably ordered it last week and expects it to show up now... he probably doesn't realize all the pieces from 1CT are made to order and not stocked on the shelf

I ordered via eBay and he sent me the piece the day after the order, so I think he also has some stock. Let's wait the OP history...

Great experiences here with 1CT, maybe the OP is having bad luck

Guys, have updated my post. I think my patience has been good enough to warrant a post here to voice out my issues as well as to keep others informed.

1) You asked him to make something he doesn't normally do

2) He gave you a price that is WAY too low for the job

3) He realized he is going to lose his shorts on the job so has given it less priority over profitable parts

I'd hold out hope that he finishes them. You are way out of the dispute window at this point.

Obviously this is his fault, not yours. But the ball is in his court now

And for future reference, if you want a totally custom part that doesn't exist from as a listed part from any manufacturer, I would shy away from small, one man shows. You have given him a monumental task. I bet there are several hundred hours of work in just creating moulds for these fairings. Add to that the material costs and he's losing money on the job

Hope you get your stuff eventually

I'm having similar problems with 1CarbonTech now. I placed the order on June 12th for a Front Fender and Side Panels, they told me 1-2 weeks for production and another week for shipping. On July 6th, they told me my parts were shipping, still nothing, July 6th was the last e-mail I received from them as well. They responded daily to my e-mails when I was trying to place the order, but now that I'm trying to find out where the order is, they won't respond. I understand it is all made once the order is placed, I'm just looking for a bit of communication here.
