Installed Protons now rear tail lights do not blink

05 CBR60055, 6000kms

Bought used, with an intergrated tail as the only mod. No idea of the brand, and stock peices are not available from original owner.

Now for my problem. I installed a set of proton flushmounts, made all the proper connections, got running lights and and turn signals to flash at a proper rate.

Now i did the right side first. I plugged the front flasher in to run a test. The fron t and REAR both flashed at the same rate and I felt a sense of accomplishments. So I kept on.

When I clipped the second one( left side) the running lights and fflashers worked again.

HOWEVER, I went to the back to check it out and the rear flashers are NO LONGER flashing. The turn on but stay solid while the fronts are flashing. Same on both sides.

What do I do? Where do I start???

Ah,
Thats different than what I sent you via email. I was thinking you were saying that they did not come on at all. You are saying that they come on, but don't blink at all.

You will have to go with a resistor or flasher relay to regulate your rear signals. Opposite of what I was saying in the email. Sounds like they are getting too much current.

if you still have the stock rear signals laying around you could put them on just to test.

I ordered the relay, but then at night I wanted to make sure everything was working besides the lights seeing as I may have screwed up other things. To my suprise, ALL the flashers were blinking at the same rate and all was well. I guess I shoulda ran the bike to test the flashers eh...

hmm.. strange. They should work with the key on and not running. I'm wondering if you might not have a short somewhere with your rear integrated light and starting the bike vibrated it enough to work ?? I'd test thoroughly.

It's a peculiar thing and I'll be doing some tests with a more experienced electrical guy this weekend. The lights blink all at the same time, but they are a bit fast, so we'll see what happens when I put the relay from CutomLed in.
