hole in this piece?!?!?!

I was helpin my buddy with his first oil change on his bike he just picked up. After taking off the filter this is what we found....

It's kind of hard to see in the pic but it looks like epoxy or jb weld putty, like the stuff you use to fix radiator holes. This view is looking at where the oil filter would be from the right side of the bike.

My questions are: what kind of fluid is behind here, is this something that we should take to the stealership to get checked/replaced, and is there more than one type of fluid behind this that could have been mixed from whatever caused the hole?

So if you know any answers give me some input!

That is the oil cooler bro only one thing would cause the hole
The oil filter was too tight to remove so a screw driver was
jabbed into the oil filter to help turn it the screw driver went thru all
the way and hit the oil cooler

Is the oil cooler a piece that is possible to replace? I'm assuming it's hot oil running through it with coolant to...well...cool it?

Moe is right on. PO was a nit wit and punched a screw driver into the oil filter to remove it. In doing so over penetrated and damaged the oil cooler. i would be concerned about the integrity of the cooler, and would replace it immediately.
