2007 600rr - won't start!

My bike has been parked for about a week, was on a business trip. I came back yesterday and took my other bike. Today I went to ride the 600, and I it won't start.

It hasn't been laid down, it rode fine a week ago I don't know what happened!
when I turn the ignition, the fuel pump kicks in, the speedo does it thing, hit the start button, and it acts like it's going to start but never ignites.

any suggestions on what this might be?

Seems to be the same thing as this thread:

https://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=106146

Should have read that before I posted (I know, call me noob)

Gave it about half gas and then started, took a second, but it kicked on.

Drove it around the block to make sure everything is working and then parked and started right up.

Wonder if Honda will get a fix for this?

Did you take any of the engine covers off (clutch and stator)? If you didn't, it's a completely different problem.

Was the engine cranking over when you tried to start it?

does the exhaust smell like fuel?

it may take a little work getting down to it
but pull a spark plug wire and get it close to the frame and spin the starter

this will let you know if you have spark

Shortly after I got my bike I made this mistake while trying to start it. Even worse my neighbor was over.. so I was quietly freaking out trying to figure out why my new $9000 toy wasn't working.

Kill switch
