trouble going into first from N

anyone else have this problem? every once a in awhile (usually after a long ride) ill put it in N at a stop light or whatever. then when i go kick it back down into first it just stays in neutral? takes a few kicks or sometimes ill just have to go up to 2nd and take off.

this has only happened maybe 3 times? but just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

bike is an '06 with 2500miles

It's normal, just roll the bike forward a few inches and try again. You need to keep the bike in gear until you are fully stopped in case there are cars behind you anyways, this will remedy your problem.
