Thumbs down Another Engine Noise!!!

Well its an 03rr just shy of 16k miles and when decelerating... i assume any gear... from ~6k to ~3k it sounds like a chain running off the inside of valve cover or there abouts. Does NOT make noise when not moving. I took it to a dealer today to see what they thought although not saying what it sounded like to me just a noise so they wouldn't have a preconceived? picture in their head of what to listen to. so the tech took it for a spin and he came back and said he heard something and said it kinda sounded like a chain... (which proves i'm not crazy just yet) ... .. but almost immediately was then convinced that it was not engine noise and was something loose/vibrating somewhere near the bike. he held everything on the bars and everything else close to see if it was up top but to no avail.

I know there is a maintainance interval of 16k for the valves for check/adjustment/lube but from what i've gathered these bikes almost never require anthing.

Please help everyone with your infinite wisdom!!!!

'almost' being the operative word. sounds can be tricky because they can travel and make you think it's coming from elsewhere. being at 16k you should inspect the valve train and adjust as necessary. it could be a CCT too.

yeah i would think the cam chain tensioner or CCT could be the issue.

valves out of adjustment possibly? so if you rev it while your standing still it wont make the noise as the rpms come down? there has to be a load on the engine?

correct it will not do it when there is no load... i was on my way home last night and decided to recheck everything on the bars just incase the tech missed something so i got it to do it as i've said before and low and behold it appears to be the clutch lever... so i may be able to use a pressure washer or shim to solve this? also i do plan on haveing my vavles checked... i plan on having the bike for many more miles so maintainence is a biggie for me... the honda dealer said ~$200 which from what i've gathered is pretty low.. input?

thanks!!
