Idle Troubles

I just bought my '04 CBR600RR a week ago and it has been great. However, on my ride to work it decided to stop idling when the clutch is pulled in. The bike has zero mods on it and only has 6,300 miles total of which it has been very well taken care of. I warmed it up like always and am not sure what the problem is. I tried to adjust the idle "knob" but it doesn't seem to help or I may be messing it up worse... I kept popping the clutch to get it going again and used the starter when at a stop, with a little gas she starts right back up. (I ride with my brights on all the time to increase visibility to other "drivers" leading me to look into a battery/alternator problem but if the starter is cranking...)

Thanks in advance guys!

is the idle knob unscrewed completely from the throttle bodies.
that would cause the knob to not make any difference when you turned it
