Clutch chatter

Can't do specific searches such as "Clutch Chatter," so that isn't much help.

When the bike is in neutral and the clutch is disengaged, there is a chattering noise. The bike is an '06 with 2600 miles. The noise started about 200 miles ago.

The dealership wanted me to authorize an hours worth of labor if they felt the need to pull it apart. Now, the bike is under warranty, but I don't really want to risk having to pay a few hundred bucks if the warranty won't cover it or if it turns out to be nothing.

The bike shifts fine.

Any ideas?

Does the noise improve or lessen with the clutch lever in(engaged)? Is it most noticeable when the bike is cold? If yes, sounds like the normal clutch basket chatter that this bike tends to have. My bike does it. Unless your clutch isn't working right or the noise is's normal. Others have replaced the basket only to have the same noise return.
