Wierd noise

The noise is kinda like a grinding whoosh noise coming from the motor. It only happens when the motor is cold. If i go for a long ride and get the motor real warm, the noise is gone everything sounds normal. It seems like maybe the oil is not warm and is somehow creating this noise. I know that is me just shooting something out, but any ideas would great.

this is tough to isolate without really being there. can you take some kind of video or something? otherwise you may wish to take it to someone who is knowledgeable on CBR600RRs. and by that i don't necessarily mean the Honda shop.

why would that matter? You can leave that part bone dry if you want. nothing rotates on the axle. the grease is a corrosion inhibitor, nothing more.
