Unhappy RPM Gauge Needle Acting Up

So a few days ago I noticed that my RPM gauge started to get a little jumpy while I was ridding. Now it is to the point where it just gives me crazy readings or it will not even read anything at all. Does anyone no the path of how the RPMs are recorded or a way to test my RPM gauge? The bike runs fine the only thing wrong is the needle is very jumpy and does not read out the correct RPMs. Is there a fuse that might be the culprit? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

no single fuse for the tach. have you visually checked the connection to make sure it is solid and clean?

otherwise grab a manual from Raydog and trace the route. i don't have my 2007 book with me ATM. 's at home.

********Fixed************

It was a loose connection on the upper right side plug, how it came loose I do not know. But everything works like new once again. Thanks for the advice Knight.
