PCIII and gray wire

I bought my PCIII used. I went to install it today and on the powercommander website there are a set of instructions that show a gray wire tapping into the TPS and another without the gray wire. My PCIII does not have a gray wire -- should it? Do some have it and some don't? The part number is 115-410R so the older model.

I'm on a 04.

OK So after talking to some people, I've concluded that the gray wire is NOT for thee 2004 600rr. The OEM connector plugs into the inline adapter supplied with the harness. NO splicing is necessary - solely plug and play.

Thanks to everyone who replied.
