Fuel gauge after accident

After a small accident involving the bike being laid down, my fuel gauge is reading a full tank.....when i know for a fact i left my house with two bars missing on the gauge.

Maybe i'm just crazy or is there anything serious that could have happened?

sensor could be stuck high. you're going to have to inspect the tank. you can see the float by peering in the filler with a flash light. otherwise it's off with the tank and out with the pump... could be that anyway.
