Low fuel indicator not working

Just wondering if i have a fluke problem, i will find out soon as im getting down on tank but last week my bike died on the road so i coasted to gas and it took 4.65. SO this means my low fuel didnt flash when on reserve, wondering if cuz i havent ridden alot and it was already sitting with only 1 bar on the gauge for a bit if anyone has had theirs not work once and then work fine after the next fillup? From the time i got on to when it ran out i would look down often to see when it would start flashing to know i needed fuel soon, but i was only going about 10 miles from the house so with it never flashing i figured i still had over 1 gal. Hopefully when this tank gets low it works and maybe some fluke from sitting for a while with low fuel, well see though. TY
