White smoke coming out of my exhaust

So I was riding with my friends today and after we got to our meetup point, I was told that I had white smoke coming out of my exhaust. He said it did not happen all the time, mostly when I am on the throttle and it seems like when I was downshifting. Not sure whats going on, this has never happend to me and the only thing I have done different is change my oil. I checked the oil gauge and I actually filled it a little more than usual, the oil is right at the top of the second oil line in the gauge.

Could this be a result of too much oil? Wouldn't it be BLACK smoke instead of white? I have been putting a lot of miles on the bike and this apparently happend after I just got done with a 300 mile that day. Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, white smoke means oil is burning. I've had my share of experiences with that. I believe black smoke has something to do with your fuel mixture. Alot of deisel engines spew black smoke in the air. To answer your question, you're right, you may have put too much oil in the engine. I say that because, I know if you put too much oil in a lawnmower engine, you'll get white smoke from the exhaust. I know a bike engine is more complex but, I think the same concept applies.

White smoke comes from burning coolant. Check your head gasket asap

-if it smells sweet it's coolant, while a burning smell is from oil

Check your coolant. White smoke is usually coolant. It doesn't sound like oil. Oil burns blue-ish.

My brother had something like this just happen with his 954rr, dealer is saying there was a diesel fuel mixed with the gasoline, and only running on 2 cylinders, just what we need with motogp around the corner.

If it were you HG it would smoke all the time and would be very noticeable. He's probably just seeing the ECU dumping fuel on deceleration.

How many miles are on the bike and what year is it?

White = Coolant
Blue = Oil
Black = Gas

If I were to run any tests it would be a radiator leak down test and a cylinder leak down test to eliminate the HG.
