Loss of power ( Loose battery connection )

Decided to go out for a short ride tonight. Let the bike warm up to about 170 degrees and left. About 10 minutes in to it the bike just shuts off and the oil light comes on. I pull over, put it in neutral and she starts up just fine. The RPM'S were around 5-6k if I'm not mistaken. So I continue on and about 2 minutes laer the same problem, bike dies, the needle doesnt hit the red line when this happens btw. Turns over fine and proceed home, but happens again when I'm a block away from my home.

Just some quick info here: It's an 03 with roughly 7,700 miles. Havent taken her out for a few weeks because of the cold but did install rizoma rear turn signals a few days ago. The bike idles fine and my fuel gauge shows half a tank. What can be the problem? No error codes flash btw. Thanks in advance!

How cold was it?
All I can think of is it either being far too cold to ride, or there is a loose connection somewhere since it's happening at the same RPM.

I'd check your connections. If you recently wired something, did you unhook your battery?

Definitely seems like a loose battery connection.

The negative connection was barely touching the battery. My own fault though, seeing how I hooked the battery up at 5 am while on 4 hours of sleep :icon_lol:

Hit the starter and she fired right up, revved it up to 14k and no issues whatsoever. Battery connections are nice and tight, thanks again everyone! The help/tips we're MUCH appreciated
