replaced the throttle switch, cranks, won't start

I replaced the Trottle switch on my 03 cbr600rr. It'll crank up but it won't turn over. I think I messed with the idle a little bit when I reconnected my throttle lines, it wants to jump in first gear. If I slowly let out the clutch in first while starting it, it'll start to roll but it never gets going. I've done this till the battery died.

it sat for about a month now while everyhting was getting taken care of (i was out of town for half this, then had to wait on parts, bladda bladda). Do i need to drain the gas and put in fresh? how do I do that?

Thanks

the idle is controled by the idle adjust. It comes out of the left side of the motor and attaches to a coolant line. ( at least it is supposed to)

Adjust it higher and if it starts and runs too high... then turn it down to a normal level. Normal level after it is up to operating temp.
