Can Smell Gas????

So as most of you know my bike has been sitting a little while, do to the wreck/rebuild. Now I taped up my intake tubes so that the dirt/dust dosnt get into the filter and what not. I figurd it was just easier that way dunno if it is that big a deal but.....

Well I knocked off one of the tubes yesterday and I could smell gas. Is that normal? Is it bad? I havent drained the tank yet but I plan on doing it soon. like friday-ish when my new subframe gets here. Did something bad happen? I am worried Something is screwed up?

Gas fumes need to get out of the bike. Make sure you didn't tape up all the vents. It needs to breath or it will build up pressure. T

No for like 2 months the bike has not been started. When I took off the bent subframe I took out the battery and disconnected alot of stuff. Like headlights and dash unit.

check the condition of the fuel pump seal when you take the tank off. if it's sweating gas out of the sides, replace it.
