Unhappy cold start idle not working? idle cable not working

hi guys,
2 issues here
firstly when starting the bike the cold idle adjuster that kicks in for about 15-30sec doesnt work. the bike starts up at normal idle and just stays there. why could the cold start idle adjuster not be working? i dont really need it just a issue i was trying to fix..
secondly whilst playing about with the idle adjuster it was a bit tight so i gave some wd40 hoping to lubricate the adjuster wheel/cabling etc but as i played about with it i winded it for what seems ages (1 min) nothing was happening, so i took off and then come the set of lights next placed in neutral the bike stopped, no fuel/idle. so when i pulled to the side of the road trying to readjust back to normal it keeps just cutting out on me.

so what way am i meant to turn it to increase idle? clockwise? and i did turn it as far as possible both ways but it just cutts out no matter what and no high revs, i can hold the throttle on to keep the bike going but once i let go it just stalls :(

im hoping i didnt break the cable or anything that goes to the adjuster under the tank..but lets saY i did then for the moment what will i have to do to readjust it?

and whats a decent rpm for idle 1200??

issue 2 is fixed, the problem was when i was winding it up clockwise the "whole" switch was going around but not the inner cable. so winding about and getting nothing, so grabbed a phillips head screwdriver and held cable/tubing firm and wound it up properley..

but still have the issue of the cold weather idle not kicking in.. :(

Could be a leaking vacuum line on the throttle bodies and on the '07 and newer... there is an IACV that controls the idle speed all the time... even the idle up when the bike is cold.

I'd pull the tank and inspect the vacuum lines first.
