cold start problem

Ok so i was gona go for a ride and i tried to start my bike and it was cranking but would not start, so after trying to start it like 4 times i opened the throttle then cranked the motor and it fired up. Anybody have any ideas what the problem is?

Check the battery I was having the same problem and I replaced my battery and it wasfixed, does this happen on a regular basis?

Is your bike fuel injected or carb?

mine used to flood all the time....when I would start the bike for a few minutes then shut it down, it wouldn't restart - just flood. Replaced the battery and never happened again????
