No Power in 2nd Gear

Starting out in 2nd gear at an intersection...

No power at take off.

Feels like a shaky newborn horse when I cross the intersection after a red light.

More throttle makes me look like an even louder shakier newborn horse when I cross the intersection.

I'm frustrated at this point so in third I am basically racing to the next red light... to look stupid all over again.

How does it feel when you start out in first gear?

^ Is that a hint that I should start out in first?

First feels better than second, but I am lstill being outpaced by Toyota Camry's and Minivans at take off.

you shouldnt be taking off in second... period.....

take off in first = problem solved..

i recall seeing a dyno chart, the 600rr makes about 5 hp at idle... that may be your problem.

Yea, that's a hint to start in first gear. But if you still don't have any power... then you have one of two problems. Either you have a motor problem where it isn't putting out that much power or ( more likely ) your clutch is slipping.

You need to describe how your bike sounds when you're starting from a stop.

Starting in second is a rider problem, not a bike problem

Starting in first sucks enough below 6k rpm.. I don't even want to imagine 2nd.
