cracked casings will a weld hold??????

So I recently bought a bike that had been low sided and when the guy went down he cracked the casings. Has anyone ever welded one of these motors? I heard they are really hard too because they are not solid steel or all aluminum. You know what I mean right. its hard to explain. anyone know what I'm talking about?

Yeah, I got one of those thinking the same thing. Some guys have decent luck with jbweld. If you watch ebay you can get engine cases for about $250...Great excuse to slip in hrc goodies eh?

I had a case welded. Worked fine. A lot of work though but, in my opinion, the only way to fix it.

Take it to a professional welder. With a proper weld it will be as strong or stronger than before. Last time I had cases welded it was $25.
