Does the triangular piece of the ram air serve a important function?

I have an 03rr and just noticed that I lost a triangular plastic piece that hooks underneath the actually tube. Just wondering am I missing anything important

its a water catch/drain/resonator. nothing really really vital.

there's a second drain insid the airbox, two of them in fact that drain right on top of the block.

it's just to quiet the intake noise. you can run without it with no ill effects. make sure you tape the hole on the bottom if you do tho.
