Should my 2005 CBR still run with out the gauge cluster?

I picked up a wrecked cbr off my friend the gauge cluster was pretty much non existent. The bike turns over but does not start. Yes it has gas. Is it because of the cluster being gone or do I have another problem? Thanks.

I don't know about the earlier models but my 09 will start as long as the tip over sensor is plugged in and not upside down. That would normally mean the cluster is probably connected too but not necessarily.

Yeah sorry to take the upper cowling off you need to unplug more
than just the gauge cluster so yes maybe it will still run without it.
Dont know now. I can check for you later but for now I have my
own issues with a short somewhere.

In the front cowling inside in the very front. two screws hold it down.

Yeah. It seems like it's the cluster causing it not to start because chances are slim that you'd have the cluster off but the tip over sensor still plugged in.

The fuel pump won't come online without signal that the sensor(and the bike) are not on it's side or upside down. >_<

Interesting little gadget.
