Another 03 rectifier/regulator bites the dust?

Ok so this morning i go out to start the bike and it took 3 tries to get it to start up. after that the whole day, as i go to start it the cluster goes crazy and it chugs along as i press the start button but it does start up.
Then i ride like 70 miles and let it sit, then go out for a cruise. As i go, i slow down with traffic approaching yet, another Chicago bottle neck on the freeway. So i'm at low rpm's and then the oil light starts blinking on and off along with most of the cluster and it eventually dies as i pull off to the side.

i take out the battery and it is sizzling hot. no melted wires or anything like that, just the battery is extremely hot. I've smelled an eggy smell last week but didn't think anything of it, but now that i think about it, it was my battery frying.

so my question is, this problem sounds like my rectifier correct? Im 99% sure but i just want to run it by some ppl before i go ahead and buy the 05 one and mounting bracket. Thanks, and sorry for the novel lol..

I'd have the battery load tested at almost any auto parts store... its free and easy to find out. Then if it's good, prolly a regulator issue.

Yea, i'm going to see if i can get out and test it tomorrow.
I did hook up a freshly charged battery to the bike after getting it off the freeway and into my garage and it started up better than how it was before and it actually cranked and fired up.
