Temperature hot or not?

I just got my bike all fixed up and found a leak in one of the radiator hoses so i fixed that and no more leaking. But now it seems to be running hotter than normal. I tested it at idle against my buddys 08 600rr and mines an 05 at 220F the fan kicked on on both bikes but my temp kept climbing to 240F then i turned it off because i didnt want it to run hot. But the on the 08 when the fan kicked on the temp hovered around 220F and even went down do 217F just at idle what gives? I just put new fluid in it i changed all the fluided except the fork oil. I went to my local cycle shop and got the best coolant they had to use. And the fans on both the 05 and 08 seem to be pushing alot of air not much of a difference. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe thermostat or something? Also what is the dangerous temp range?

Sounds too hot to me. Your bike should never get to 240. Either a stuck thermostat, clogged or pinched coolant line, too much air in the cooling system or even a blocked radiator.
